RAF Typhoon over Shrewsbury - Were they casing a UFO ?
Witnesses say 2 Planes "Very Low"
RAF Say 1 Plane at "10,000ft"
BBC Article
A huge "explosion" heard across Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is thought to have been an RAF Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft breaking the sound barrier.
The boom was heard at about 1610 GMT. Spokesman for RAF Shawbury, Martin Locke said he did not know what the plane was doing over Shropshire. One of the many callers to BBC Radio Shropshire, Jackie Cassidy said: "It was really frightening." She said she heard a bang, the windows shook and the door came ajar. Mrs Cassidy, who works for Hatchers solicitors in Shrewsbury said: "I thought it was an earthquake or a gas explosion." Nobody knew what was going on, she said, and everyone poured out on to the streets. Witness Andy Brooks said: "After the boom, the clouds just parted and this (smoke trail) is what I saw." Another caller to BBC Radio Shropshire said he saw two large aircraft flying very low near Haughmond Hill. The station also received calls from the town centre, Shelton and Belle Vue areas. News editor Sharon Simcock said: "We thought someone had driven into our building."

Cowichan Crop Circle June 7th 2008
A member of the Victoria Flying Club got a shock while soaring above the Cowichan Valley recently.
Shannon Tomren, her daughter and a club pilot were flying above Quamichan Lake on June 7 when they sighted a huge crop circle etched in the fields below them.
“I thought, 'Wow, that's pretty cool,'” Tomren said. “It's definitely not something you see every day.”
After asking the pilot to turn around, Tomren snapped a shot of the large-scale art piece and sent it to the News Leader Pictorial.
And while Tomren said she doesn't buy into the Signs-esque conspiracy theories, she can't deny the crop circle's artistic merit.
“It's beautiful — it's got some serious style to it.”
Cowichan Crop Circle Update July 08
The formation is in a hay / grass field owned by the Nature Conservancy of Canada (BC branch), a conservative science institution, with restricted access to the field. The quality of the geometry is quite impressive, rivalling some formations in Europe (not often seen here), especially given the type of field this is. The diameter is approximately 64 metres (209 feet).Gary Bobroff was able to visit the formation today for CCCRN, and even after the cutting, reported that the flat, multi-directional lay could still be seen. Also some nodes bent at a 90-degree angle to the ground and elongated apical nodes.
Silver sphere seen in Liverpool on 08/06/08.
First spotted at 2.30pm and it remained in the same posistion untill 9.30pm.
The sphere would disappear when planes came onto the scene. It would then reappear once they had gone.
At 5pm neighbours came out and viewed it as well through binoculars.
Sorry about the quality but it was a very sunny day and it made it almost imposible to see the sphere in the lcd viewscreen on the camera as I zoomed in.In the end I resorted to pointing in the general direction and hoping for the best.
Doves and Spheres later that day
As well as spheres flying overhead a flock of Doves decided to fly in circles above all day.It has become a daily occurance since
Police chase UFO over Cardiff
20/06/2008
A police helicopter crew gave chase to a UFO after it almost collided with their aircraft near a military base. The pilot was forced to bank sharply to avoid being hit by the mystery aircraft as the helicopter was returning to the Ministry of Defence base of St Athan, near Cardiff.
The three crew, who described the UFO as 'flying saucer-shaped', then gave chase, getting as far as the North Devon coast before they ran low on fuel, it was reported.
The police aircraft was hovering at 500ft and waiting clearance to land on June 7, when those onboard spotted the other craft hurtling towards them from below.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "We can confirm the Air Support Unit sighted an unusual aircraft. This was reported to the relevant authorities for their investigation."
It was reported that the aircraft closed in at great speed, aiming straight for the helicopter which swerved sharply.
"They are convinced it was a UFO. It sounds far-fetched, but they know what they saw."
The helicopter crew are said to have crossed the Bristol channel in pursuit of the UFO, but lost sight of it and had to turn back due to a fuel shortage.
Shaken soldiers come forward and claim earlier sighting
Reports of a fleet of UFOs have sparked national interest as people look to the skies.
A soldier from Tern Hill Barracks, near Market Drayton, has publicly given his account of the moment when zig-zagging craft, shaped like rotating cubes, passed above his head on Saturday evening.
The tale of the 13 unexplained objects has captured the imagination of many - but local experts remain sceptical. Corporal Mark Proctor was one of three soldiers who saw the objects above his military barracks. He filmed the sighting, at Tern Hill barracks near Market Drayton, Shropshire, on his mobile phone and reported the sighting to Army officials. Cpl Proctor, 38, of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Regiment, saw the "craft" which he described as "rotating cubes" in the sky, just after 11pm on Saturday, June 7. "I was on duty in the guard room when the other boys outside began shouting. I went out to see what the commotion was about and could see thirteen craft in the skies," he said.
"They were zig-zagging, but I filmed two before they disappeared. They were like rotating cubes with multiple colours. "
"I made a full report to my commanding officers and gave them my footage. The other lads were as amazed by it as I was." A 19-year-old private on patrol also saw the "fleet". "There were about 30 lights passing over for a few minutes, very high but not at a great speed. They were bright red. Another soldier saw them too," he said.
The Ministry of Defence experts are studying Cpl Proctors mobile phone footage and have told the soldiers not to speak about the incident. MOD spokesperson said: “The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity. Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported.”
The sighting above the military barracks came two hours before helicopter police officers reported an encounter with a huge craft 80 miles away near Cardiff.

UFOs spotted by Navy engineer above the M5 motorway
2 July 2008 - A Royal Navy aircraft engineer claims to have seen a "glowing" UFO hover over the M5 motorway. Michael Madden, 25, said he watched in disbelief as the disc-shaped object floated above his head before it "zoomed off at incredible speed".He said the unidentified flying object flew for up to three minutes above junction 21 of the M5, near Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.Mr Madden was on his way back from Manchester with colleague Michael Casson, 22, at 9.50pm on Sunday June 29 when he saw the suspected 'extra-terrestrial' craft. He said: "I work with aircraft and grew up next to Manchester Airport so I know exactly what a plane looks and sounds like. This was definitely not a plane.
"It was a circular disc which was glowing bright, hovering hundreds of metres up.
BBC Video here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7487872.stm
"Other people must have spotted it. It was unlike anything I've ever seen in my life. It really did look like the alien aircraft in films. It had an antenna fixed to the back."Mr Madden's claim follows a string of recent UFO "sightings".
On June 7 three soldiers said they saw 13 UFOs, which looked like "rotating cubes", while on night patrol at Tern Hill military barracks near Market Drayton, Shropshire. One, Corporal Mark Proctor, 38, of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Regiment, recorded the sighting on his mobile phone and reported it to Army officers.
That sighting came just two hours before helicopter police officers reported an encounter with a huge craft 80 miles away near Cardiff. They claimed to have given chase to the "flying saucer-shaped" object after it almost collided with their aircraft near the Ministry of Defence base of St Athan.
Then Father-of-two David Osborne, 47, videoed 12 orange objects in the night sky above Basingstoke, Hampshire, at 10.40pm on June 28.The alleged UFOs moved across the sky, switching from a D formation, to a random pattern, to a line then a triangle before disappearing.
Liverpool July 5th 2.17pm - Sphere that looks like Saturn
Whilst on the phone to my son on July 5th I noticed a sphere outside.I hung up and started to film. The sphere would occasionally look like it had a ring around it - a bit like the planet Saturn. It dropped very quickly to below the height of some houses and then reapeared from behind them tracking sideways past some trees. It would vanish and reappear and then "morph" in to a lens shape. It had also taken on a silver appearance having looked white before hand.
Whether alien activity or natural phenomena, reports of UFOs have flooded in this summer from across the country
Plotted on a map of Britain, the sightings can be seen to stretch from Liverpool to Dover and from Llanelli to Derby
Daily Telegraph 8th July
Whatever the explanation, experts agree that the number of suspected flying saucers has hit unusual highs this summer.
Malcolm Robinson, who studies the phenomenon, said: "Something very bizarre is happening in the skies over the UK."
The founder member of Strange Phenomena Investigations, added: "There has been an unusual number of sightings recently.
"Some experts believe it could be linked to global warming and craft from outer space are appearing because they are concerned about what man is doing to this planet."
Among mysterious flying objects spotted in recent months was a 'glowing' disc spotted above the M5 motorway.
Royal Navy aircraft engineer Michael Madden said he watched the UFO for three minutes before it 'zoomed off' near Weston-super-Mare in Somerset.
Earlier, in Basingstoke, witnesses claimed to have seen a fleet of 12 orange objects in the night sky for half an hour.
And in St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan a police helicopter crew gave chase to another UFO after it appeared to veer at speed towards their aircraft.

Aliens exist, but NASA covers them up says astronaut
A former NASA astronaut who has walked on the moon has said aliens are not only real but have visited Earth several times.
By Ben Farmer
Last Updated: 4:45PM BST 24 Jul 2008
Dr Edgar Mitchell, said he was aware of several UFO visits during his career, but each one had been covered up.
The 77-year-old, who was a crew member of the Apollo 14 mission, said sources at the space agency had described aliens as resembling "little people who look strange to us".
Dr Mitchell told Kerrang! Radio that human technology was "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and had they been hostile, he warned: "We would be been gone by now".
He said: "There's not much question at all that there's life throughout the universe, we are not alone at all. I'm most assured about that.
"Have we been able to identify where the other planets are? No, certainly not in our Solar System but we have been able to identify quite a number of planets that could be life bearing planets.
"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real.
"It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.
"I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes – we have been visited.
"Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit."
Dr Mitchell, along with Apollo 14 Commander Alan Shepard, still holds the record for the longest ever moonwalking session at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.
Officials from NASA, were quick to play the comments down.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.
"Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue."
Edgar Mitchell Discovery Interview
Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell returned from his mission to the moon a changed man. He has spent the last 35 years trying to use the tools of science to figure out what happened. Along the way, he says that people knowledgeable about an alleged crash of an alien spaceship in Roswell, N.M., shared the information with him.
He's been speaking out ever since, most recently on a radio talk show that tripped off an unexpected wave of media attention. In a telephone interview with Irene Klotz, Mitchell sets the record straight -- as he sees it.
Irene Klotz: Hi Dr. Mitchell
Edgar Mitchell: Just a minute ... I'm sorry. My dog jumped in my lap and knocked over my coffee cup. It's OK. Go ahead.
IK: What's your dog's name?
EM: Oh, that's Cutie (Q.T.?)
IK: Cutie?
EM: Yup, I've got two of them and right now they're telling me that it's their suppertime and I must come in and fix their supper ... at least that's what they want.
IK: Well first of all thanks very much for making a little time. I wanted to ask you if there was anything about the radio interview you did that was different from what you've said in the past.
EM: No, there's nothing different. Several of (the reports of the interview) that I've seen come around have some flaws in them. Some of the reports pushed it or spun it incorrectly. NASA had nothing to do with anything I've done. I wasn't briefed by NASA. There haven't been any sightings as a result of my flight service there, so if that part of it comes out on anything you've seen it is just totally wrong.
IK: Yes, I did want to clarify that.
EM: My major knowledge comes from what I call the old-timers, people who were at Roswell and subsequent who wanted to clear the things up and tell somebody credible even though they were under severe threats and things -- this was back in the Roswell days. Having gone to the moon and being a local citizen out in the Roswell area some of them thought I would be a safe choice to tell their story to, which they did. Even though the government put real clamps on everybody, it got out anyhow.
Subsequent to that, I did take my story to the Pentagon -- not NASA, but the Pentagon -- and asked for a meeting with the Intelligence Committee of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and got it. And told them my story and what I know and eventually had that confirmed by the admiral that I spoke with, that indeed what I was saying was true.
IK: You mean what had been told to you was true?
EM: Yup, in other words. There was a UFO crash. There was an alien spacecraft. This gentleman tried his damndest to get me in and like so many others in the administration over the last 60 years, since JFK's time, was unable to. He was told 'Admiral, you don't have a need to know, and therefore go get lost,' essentially.
IK: Have you ever come out and said who this person was who briefed you?
EM: No, I have not.
IK: Would you at some point?
EM: No, it is out and around but I don't feel like I have the liberty to do that.
IK: When did you have your meeting at the Pentagon?
EM: It was in the late '90s in Washington when I was there working with The Disclosure Project, trying to get all those opened up with another Naval officer by the name of Will Miller and Steven Greer, who you probably heard of. Steven and I don't really work on this anymore together, but we did at that point and getting to the Pentagon and seeing what we could do there to try to get this opened up.
IK: Why do you think the government hasn't acknowledged that there is life outside of Earth? I thought that was sort of the point of NASA.
EM: Well most people in government don't know. The government is highly compartmentalized. You could work next door to somebody for 30 years not knowing what they're doing in certain areas. The whole point of all of this ... goes back to World War II. This Roswell incident took place right at the aftermath of World War II when the U.S. Army Air Corps was split off and became the Air Force and the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), which was the intelligence service of World War II, was disbanded and eventually became the CIA. At that point the Cold War was just starting to move under way and we were at odds with the Soviets.
The Air Force was brand new and supposedly in control of the skies and didn't know what they were doing, and the CIA didn't know what they were doing, so Pres. Truman was in a big problem here: Here people were telling him there were aliens around and nobody knew if they were hostile or what they were and what was he going to do about it?
So he formed a committee, a very high-level military and academic and intelligent people -- politically powerful people -- and said 'You guys work on this.' And that was called ... the MAJIC 12. And they did pass a National Security Act, or so I'm told, under highly classified auspices, that gave this committee virtually unlimited power to deal with this issue, which they have done for the last 60 years, slowly excluding everybody -- including presidents.
You may remember that Pres. Clinton tried to send (Webster) Hubbell to find out about this at Wright Patterson. He got rejected. And Barry Goldwater, back in the '60s when he was getting ready to run for the presidency and who was a brigadier general in the Air Force Reserve tried to get information about it. He got rejected. And I'm told that Gerry Ford tried to do some finding out and he got rejected.
Jimmy Carter announced his observation of UFOs, but that never went anywhere so obviously he made no progress. Only in recent years has the public interest become acute enough and enough stories leaked out so that people are starting to believe that it's all real. And the fact of the matter is, it is.
They're still around and there's a lot of stuff going on.
Are you aware of the so-called Phoenix Lights Incident? That wasn't our stuff. Just a few years ago. Three humongous craft flew over Phoenix, very slowly in the middle of the night that clearly were not -- I happened to be on the phone with people out there when that happened and have had pictures of it -- clearly those were not, to those of us who know aviation and spacecraft, clearly those were not local stuff, home-grown stuff.
IK: So you're saying the incidences are becoming more prevalent among the general public? People are having their own sightings?
EM: Just several weeks ago, this so-called incident at Stephenville, in Stephenville, Texas. Another one in the UK. And naturally a lot of discounting and unfortunately the press, the giggle factor got up and the press tended to ignore it, but the fact of the matter is this is the real stuff we're dealing with. We're not alone in the universe. And it has nothing to do with NASA. As far as I know it has to do with what's going on and has been going on for a long time.
IK: As a man of science and engineering, how did you make this leap from doing what you needed to do to be an astronaut to what you're doing today?
EM: Because I was told by people who were utterly sworn to secrecy under severe penalty if they talked and because I'd been to the moon, because I was a local resident of Roswell when the so-called Roswell incident took place, some of them thought I was a safe person to tell before they passed on so that the knowledge didn't die. There are others like me, people out here who have done an enormous amount of investigation who have seen through the facade and seen through the cover-up and can talk chapter and verse, better than I can. We know it's real.
IK: Can you describe what changed you after you were in space? How did that happen?
EM: Well I've got a research foundation that has been working on that problem for 37 years.
I was coming back from the moon after completing a successful mission on the moon. My job was being responsible for the lunar spacecraft for the lunar surface activities. So on the way home, my successful job had been mostly completed and we were just coming home. We still had experiments and work to do, but the big stuff was done.
We were orientated such and rotating in order to keep the thermal balance of the spacecraft so that every two minutes you could see the Earth, the moon, the sun and a 360-degree panorama of the heavens came through the window every two minutes. That's powerful stuff, particularly since it's space. Without the atmosphere to block, the stars don't twinkle, and there's 10 times as many as you could possibly see on Earth because of the lack of interference and it's much closer to what you could see through the Hubble Telescope these days, with those pictures and I hope you've looked at some of those: it's overwhelming -- and I realized as that happened, because I do have a PhD from MIT and I studied astronomy at Harvard and MIT and knew that molecules of matter in my body and in the spacecraft and in my partners' bodies were made in some ancient generation of stars. That's where matter is created.
Suddenly I realized that the molecules in my body were created in an ancient generation of stars and suddenly that became personal and visceral, not intellectual and I had never had this experience. It was accompanied by bliss, an ecstasy I had never experienced.
Later -- and I'm making this long story short -- with some discovery and some help from scientists at Rice University in Houston, I discovered in ancient transcripts that this type of experience -- a transformational, transcendental experience where you see things as you perceive them but experience them viscerally and emotionally as one, as a part of it -- is called samadhi. In doing more research, I found that it has taken place in every culture on Earth. The political and cultural expression of that turns out to be religion.
The experience is the same -- a heady, overwhelming experience. But when it gets politicized, put into the culture, those things get lost on the people who had the experience and it becomes something else. So that's what it was: a deep, deep cultural experience that is in the culture of our civilization in hundreds of places.
IK: Is that what the Noetic Institute is for? To bring this consciousness ...
EM: I'm trying to use the tools of science to understand precisely these types of knowledge.
IK: Wow, that's quite a calling.
EM: That's exactly what I've spent the last 35 years doing.
IK: What's the tie-in between this pursuit and your experiences with understanding that there are other life forms that have come to Earth?
EM: Well it's just an extension of the cosmology of what's this whole universe about and what are we about and coming to the conclusion that we are not alone. That's some of the most important knowledge that we could discover.
